Our company, Olympus Almonds, located in Kallithea, Elassona, is a family business that operates with consistency and professionalism in the cultivation of almonds and more specifically in the production and marketing of Greek almonds and walnuts, offering to the market of Elassona, Larissa and all of Greece always almonds of high quality and taste.
In 1998, Sakalidis Hippocrates, 3from generation farmer, taking over from his father, he was engaged in tobacco farming and later in the cultivation of fodder on his own land.
In 2010, we began planting 25 acres of almond trees, growing to the current 150 acres of almond and walnut trees. Every day and throughout the year, we nurture our trees to give us their best, biggest and most delicious fruit. On our farms we grow 3 different varieties of Texas almonds, almond trees, phyrantha and fairy nuts and 1 variety of chandler walnut.
Wanting to develop even further what the Sakalidis family business created, in 2022 we started to implement the idea of standardization -processing and packaging of the almond fruit, having an almond peeler and a cold pressing press for processing and production of butter and vegetable oils.
After the almonds are harvested, they are dried and then passed through the crusher to break and remove the skin-shell without injuring the crumb, the peeler breaks the skin-shell of the almond and then separates the crumb from the shell. This completes the process of sorting, standardising and marketing them on the international and domestic markets.
